We sing to worship the Triune God who has revealed Himself through the person of Jesus Christ. Our singing is respectful of the diversity of ages and backgrounds in our church. We favor a ‘blended’ approach that utilizes “hymns, psalms and spiritual songs” (Ephesians 5:19/Colossians 3:16) that seeks to be creative and dynamic. Our style is mostly contemporary but inclusive of the historical aspect of church singing. The lyrics are presented on a media screen.  Our goal is not to appease every musical preference but to celebrate the journey of faith in Christ by being reminded of His character and goodness.  Diversity is reflected in the people who attend as well as in our choice of songs.  Once a month we try to choose a truthful new composition that echoes the history of hope expressed through the ages.

We aim to choose singable songs that have strong content about God’s character and His eternal works. Our songs are Biblically based and centre on the incarnation, the cross, and the resurrection. Themes include the mercy and grace of God, His love and justice, His missional intent on earth, as well as the future of heaven and His return. It is from this basis that we might respond to God’s activity in our midst.

Our desire is that every person attending would have an encounter with the living God, by the activity of His Spirit in our community life. It is important for us to do our best with our musical skills - for mediocrity is not worshipful - yet we realize our skills are little without prayer. We pray that God will move in our midst so that our minds and our hearts are engaged to respond to the Lord’s hospitality and beckoning. It is His face we seek, His presence that we long for. We hope that over time all of us will experience God working in our lives, transforming us by the grace of Christ. Experience is good but it should not stop there – we should be different over time as we re-entre the responsibilities of daily living. It is herein that the wider aspect of our worship derived from a salvation lived in God’s world takes its true form (Romans 12:1-2).

Rehearsals
Usually we have 4-5 musicians on the team each week.
Led by one of our leaders, the team rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7.00-9.00pm.
We gather on Sunday at 9.00am to go over songs from rehearsal before the service begins at 10.30am.

Special Music
Occasionally we have special music from artists who bring a unique song that ties into the theme of the service. We value music and lyrics that inspire us and remind us of truth, goodness and beauty.
